Trailer: The World Ends With You

Anime adaptations of video games are quite common in Japan and it isn't surprising that The World Ends With You finally gets one.
The original game was first released for the Nintendo DS back in July of 2007 and later on it got release for IOS, Android, and Nintendo Switch.
Luckily, there is a trailer for the anime which gives us an idea as to what we can expect from the anime adaptation.

At first glance, we can see that the art style and animation is incredibly good.
In fact, the adaptation is closely following the art style that was used in the original video game which is good news for fans.
We just hope that they didn't changed too much of the story, but these things are bound to happen for whatever reason.

As for the setting of the story, it's set in the modern day version of Shibuya but there's some fantasy mixed into it.
The characters are all given powers or something which looks like magic if you think about it.
Why are there powers? Well, the characters are all forced to participate in a survival game and they're being hunted during the whole ordeal.
If they want to survive, its only fair that they are given some powers or special abilities that they can use to defend themselves.

Since this is partly fantasy, you can definitely expect some monsters to show up in this anime adaptation.
The monsters even have powers of their own and it isn't going to be easy taking them down.
It's pretty exciting stuff and we hope to see more of this anime real soon.

The World Ends With You anime adaptation is expected to be released by 2021.
