Few years ago, Google had an idea to make a self driving car and so they did. They created their first prototype called Waymo.
Back in the year 2009, Waymo started testing it's capabilities and finally achieved good results just late last year.
This year, they released a video on what it's like to be able to ride in a self driving car and it's aim? The safety and the comfort of their passengers.
In this video, take a backseat view on how an AI robotic car outsmarts the world around it.
Waymo has a 360 view of the surrounding areas in which they call it lidar. The lidar sends laser beams per second so it actually knows which objects are near it.
It can also measure the distance between itself and other objects so that it can avoid accidents.
It plans ahead and predicts movements of nearby objects or humans.
Thus creating a safer and comfortable ride of their passengers as well as the safety in its surrounding area.
Who knows what Waymo can do? Perhaps it can even talk just like one of their products Google Home.
